Campus Ter Zee in Ostend is a complex housing both an SBSO and a KTA school, constructed within the framework of the “Schools of Tomorrow” initiative. In addition to classrooms and administrative facilities, the complex includes workshops, laboratories, and a theatre hall for the stage technology department. The structure of the SBSO school building, located at the front of the site, consists of solid prefabricated concrete walls with a thickness of 15 cm and prefabricated floor elements. The KTA comprises a cluster of buildings. In an elongated volume, constructed from prefabricated beams, columns, and slabs, classrooms are accommodated. These connect to a large hall, within which separate volumes, such as the theatre hall, are implemented as “box-in-box” structures. The workshop cluster is composed of insulated prewalls, covered by steel Polonceau trusses, traditionally assembled from L-profiles.
